Nice Old Town and Promenade des Anglais Guided Walking Tour

Overview

Discover two of Nice's most iconic areas on a guided walking tour led by a local guide. This experience connects the medieval Old Town to the famous seafront promenade, offering an overview of the city's history, architecture, and culture. Start at Place Masséna and enter the Vieux Nice through its narrow cobblestone streets. Your guide walks you through the Cours Saleya market, past baroque churches including the Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate, and along Rue Droite. Learn how Nice evolved from a Greek trading post to a territory of the House of Savoy, then an Italian-governed city, before becoming part of France in 1860. Explore the hidden squares and pastel-colored facades of the Old Town. Continue along the Promenade des Anglais, originally built in the 1820s by the English winter colony. The tour ends near the Jardin Albert 1er. Your guide also explains how Nice became a French Riviera destination and shares local recommendations for restaurants and activities to enjoy after the tour.
