Exploring the Jewel of Tarn

Overview

Due to its exceptional beauty and unique architectural heritage, Albi was recently inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. In this charming and elegant city perched on the high banks of the Tarn River, the past and the present coexist in perfect harmony. Walking in its narrow streets early in the morning or late at night is a fascinating aesthetic and emotional experience. Sainte Cécile Cathedral whose somber silhouette dominates the skyline takes us back to the epoch that witnessed the Albigensian Crusade and the destruction of the flourishing culture of Languedoc.
